Robert Akeson

Robert Akeson is the founder and Managing Member of Solidus Advisors. 

 

Bob also serves as President and helped found the Manhattan Alternative Investment Network – a trade association for small hedge funds, accredited and institutional investors, digital asset issuers, and the ecosystem that supports these groups. 

 

In addition, Bob is Managing Director with investment bank Riverside Management Group, where he advises asset managers, broker-dealers, fintech companies. Bob’s experience includes P&L management, corporate strategy, business development, operations, IT, compliance, risk management, due diligence, balance sheet and liquidity management. 

 

Bob also has experience working with firms to navigate the the FINRA New and Continuing Membership application processes and the SEC to help firms become or extend their memberships. 

 

He has also guided firms to become self-clearing and members of clearinghouses such as the DTCC, FICC, and OCC. 

 

Prior to founding Solidus Advisors, Bob was COO and Co-Head of Prime Brokerage at Mirae Asset Securities. He also ran Neuberger Berman’s prime brokerage, correspondent clearing, and related agency execution and research distribution efforts, in addition to holding management positions at Morgan Stanley, ICBC, and Broadridge’s predecessor, ADP BISG.

 

Bob previously served as a member of the DTCC Systemic Risk Task Force and Chairman of the Business Management Interest Group of the CFA Society New York. 

 

Bob earned an MBA from New York University and a BA from Washington College. He holds the following FINRA licenses/registrations SIE, 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, 79, and 99.

Gerard Chambers

With over 35 years of experience building and leading companies, Gerry Chambers is a seasoned executive with a proven track record across the full spectrum of business operations. From early-stage development to scaling and long-term growth, Gerry has navigated every phase of the business lifecycle.


With expertise in finance, sales, and marketing, Gerry has overseen complex financial operations, developed revenue-driving strategies, and built high-performing teams. A skilled negotiator, he has led high-level client engagements and closed deals with key stakeholders across multiple industries. When with financial printer Chas. P. Young, Gerry worked to bring a new concept of on-site support services outsourcing to Chas. P. Young and subsequently to numerous NYC legal and financial firms. The operation grew to nearly $100 million during his time there. 
 

Gerry moved on to Xerox to develop its outsourcing solutions. 

Upon completion of his executive MBA at New York University, Gerry started GLC Business Business Services and ran it for over 25 years. Working with national law firms, accounting and insurance companies Gerry honed his client facing skills and business development skills. 


In addition to operational leadership, Gerry has experience in securing funding from a range of sources and managing those relationships to drive sustainable growth. His ability to align financial strategy with business objectives has consistently delivered strong results.

Known for a hands-on leadership style and strategic mindset, Gerry excels at identifying opportunities, solving complex challenges, and guiding organizations toward long-term success.​
